…The Open Source U

As an executive overview, The Open Source U (or tOSU) is a blog based software development & programming education site. While I’m still nailing down the exact format for this site, I have a fairly clear and concise goal:

Understand the design, architecture and implementation of certain major Open Source software for my personal and professional growth.

While the posts that are or will be on this site are my discoveries and my opinions, I’m posting what I find as a sort of community sharing. The Open Source community has given a lot and at the same time I’ve taken a lot from it. In a way, this is one way I’ve decided to give back.

An additional hope is that I can help others learn new techniques or insights in how [open source] software is put together and maintained.

Software to Review [Tentative]

The following is a list of some of the software I hope to review, understand and post about. No dates are set and I can not make any promises. But if you, as a reader and possible contributor, have specific interest in a product please let me know by e-mailing Frank [at] TheOpenSourceU.com or by leaving a comment below.
